Athlete 12SSP / 14SSP
For shallow off the shore, new 120mm sinking pencil was born, designed for surf and flathead fishing which are getting popular now. We questioned if there were any lures that had good casting ability but maintain a slow retrieve speed without snagging the bottom but rather travelling above it where flounder or flathead are waiting to strike. Athlete 12SSP was designed to place the weight backward since it is focused on flathead fishing, which is very different from other sinking pencils. The flight attitude and casting ability are stable despite of its big body size, and is comparable to metal jigs. It falls plumb down to the bottom quickly and swims smoothly with a rolling action which changes to wobbling roll action with a faster retrieve,the action can be felt easily through the rod tip. Its equipped with 3 trebles as not to miss any strikes from flounder or flathead and due to its casting ability and action it is also capable of catching blue fish and sea bass too.
